Original Cold War-era CD V-777 Radiation Detection Set, produced for U.S. Civil Defense use during the early nuclear preparedness programs of the 1950s–1960s. These kits were distributed nationwide for fallout shelter monitoring and emergency response, making them an iconic piece of Cold War history.
This example is a complete, original set housed in its factory-labeled cardboard box with internal dividers, original manuals, and paperwork. The instruments retain their correct Civil Defense yellow finish with visible manufacturer markings from Victoreen and Industrial Electronic Hardware Corp. The outer box retains later government handling tape with 1997 California state agency markings, indicating continued Civil Defense storage and redistribution.
Included is the CD V-700 Geiger counter with probe, CD V-715 survey meter, and CD V-750 dosimeter charger, along with multiple dosimeters, straps, and accessories. The set presents very well and is ideal for both collectors and display.
All components have been tested for power/function; however, the CD V-700 will require a replacement Geiger-Müller tube to fully operate as intended. This is a common service item for these units and does not affect display or completeness.
