Authentic early-production U.S. military PASGT (Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops) Kevlar helmet, size Small, manufactured under a 1983 DLA contract by Devils Lake Sioux Manufacturing.

The Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops (PASGT) Helmet served as the standard combat helmet for U.S. military forces from the early 1980s through the mid-2000s. Constructed from layered Kevlar, it provided a significant improvement in ballistic protection over the earlier M1 steel helmet.

This is one of the earlier PASGT contracts, dating to the initial rollout period of the system in the early 1980s. Helmet retains its original textured OD green finish and is fitted with a 6-Color Desert “Chocolate Chip” camouflage cover complete with OD elastic band featuring glow-in-the-dark cat-eye tabs on the rear.

Interior features the original PASGT suspension system with leather sweatband and correct early chinstrap hardware. The helmet shows typical service wear including minor scuffs and finish wear consistent with issued surplus. No cracks or structural damage observed.

An excellent Cold War era PASGT example — especially desirable due to the early 1983 contract and Native American-owned manufacturer marking.
