Original U.S. M40 series protective mask set, complete with its OD green “MASK, M40 SERIES” carrier, clear lens outserts, head harness, internal nosecup, voicemitter/exhale assemblies, and attached maintenance identification tag. The front outlet cover is marked MSA and appears dated 1992, with the maintenance tag showing inspection/service markings from the early 1990s.
 
The M40 was the standard U.S. military protective mask introduced in the late Cold War era and used heavily through the 1990s into the GWOT period before being replaced by newer mask systems. This example has the classic black rubber facepiece, dual triangular eye lenses, side-mounted 40mm filter port, front voicemitter, and drinking tube setup.
 
Condition is used military surplus. The mask shows normal age, storage wear, dust, scuffs, cloudy/scratched lenses, and wear to the rubber and hardware. The carrier is included and shows typical handling wear. Comes with loose/extra clear lens outserts as shown. Sold strictly as a collectible/display item only.
