This is an original U.S. Marine Corps–issued M-1951 Field Parka system, produced under a U.S. Army contract and later marked for USMC service, a common and documented practice during the mid-1950s.
The outer shell, tagged Regular Small, is constructed from water-repellent treated cotton sateen in Olive Green Shade OG-107, built to MIL-C-11448B (Amendment #1). The contract is dated 31 October 1956 and manufactured by Cohen Fein Company. Features include the heavy slide-fastener zipper with snap storm flap, adjustable waist and fishtail hem drawcords, oversized cargo pockets, and a detachable button-on hood.
Notably, the shell bears a stenciled U.S. Marine Corps identification on the chest:
“CREWS F.D. / 1863888 / USMC”, indicating Marine Corps issue and individual marking.
Included is the correct M-1951 pile liner, tagged Regular Medium, dated October 1955, manufactured by United States Rubber Company, and also marked U.S. Marine Corps. The liner buttons directly into the shell and provides substantial cold-weather insulation.

Sizing
The parka shell is tagged Regular Small, while the liner is tagged Regular Medium. This was common in service and does not prevent proper use — the liner buttons in correctly and functions as intended. The liner will fit slightly trimmer inside the shell, which many people actually prefer for layering.
