Original World War II U.S. M1905 bayonet manufactured by Oneida Limited in 1942, complete with a wartime Beckwith/Victory Plastics M3 scabbard. This example retains the long 16-inch-pattern blade and features black ribbed plastic grips, a steel crossguard with muzzle ring, and a fully functioning locking and release mechanism.
 
Originally developed for the M1903 Springfield, the M1905 also equipped the M1 Garand. Wartime production resumed in 1942 to meet increased demand, with Oneida among six civilian manufacturers contracted to produce the long bayonet. Beginning in 1943, many existing M1905 bayonets were shortened to the new 10-inch M1 standard. This example retains its earlier long-blade configuration.
 
The ricasso is marked “OL,” “U.S.” with the flaming Ordnance bomb, and “1942.” A partially struck crossed-cannon Ordnance inspection stamp is visible on the opposite side, with an additional small flaming-bomb marking on the crossguard.
 
The accompanying M3 scabbard features an olive-drab composite body, steel throat, and wire belt hanger. The throat bears the U.S. flaming-bomb emblem, while the underside is marked “B 1/0 N,” with the numbers stacked vertically. This marking corresponds to Beckwith production with a metal throat supplied by New England Pressed Steel.
 
Condition: Used vintage condition with finish wear, scratches, scattered pitting, and discoloration on the blade and steel fittings. The blade shows evidence of previous cleaning or polishing and sharpening, with wear along the edge and point. The black grips show handling wear and localized abrasions to the ribbing. The scabbard has surface scratches, worn paint, and exposed underlying material along portions of its edges. The locking and release mechanism is in excellent working condition.
