Original World War II U.S. Marine Corps M1938-style map and dispatch case, maker marked Hamelco / Hamel Co. 1944 on the reverse. This olive drab canvas field case was used to carry maps, orders, dispatches, pencils, overlays, and other paperwork in the field.
This example features the desirable U.S.M.C. stencil under the flap, along with a faint but visible Hamelco 1944 maker/date stamp on the back. The case includes its shoulder strap and interior divider compartments, plus the front pencil/tool pocket. The front flap also has period hand-applied numbers or unit-style markings, giving it a great field-used appearance.
Condition is used WWII surplus with age, wear, fading, staining, fraying, and marks throughout. Hardware and snaps appear intact. Shoulder strap is present. A solid original USMC-marked WWII field gear piece with great display value.
