Original U.S. Army M-69 Fragmentation Protective Vest, manufactured in 1974 by Hunter Outdoor Products. This late-Vietnam-era body armor was designed to protect soldiers from grenade and shell fragments, marking the culmination of years of development that began with the M-1952 flak vest.
Constructed with a nylon outer shell and filled with ballistic nylon layers, the M-69 features lace-up sides for size adjustment, two front pockets, and a ¾ protective collar for neck coverage. This example retains its original interior label with clear 1974 contract markings.
The original zipper and button front have been replaced with a full Velcro closure, a practical modification often seen in post-service use or later field repairs. Despite signs of age, the vest remains in solid display condition — an authentic piece of Cold War–era U.S. Army protective gear.
