Original Swiss Army Alpenflage M61/70 combat field jacket with the separate removable backpack/ruck attachment. This is one of the most distinctive Swiss surplus setups, pairing the classic multi-pocket Alpenflage field jacket with a detachable rear pack system for extra field storage.
 
The jacket is made in the iconic Swiss Alpenflage camouflage pattern, also known as TAZ 57, with its unmistakable red, green, tan, black, and white camo coloration. It features a heavy-duty field jacket design with large front cargo pockets, sleeve pockets, internal storage, a front zipper with snap storm flap, metal hardware, adjustable straps, and a built-in waist belt.
 
One of the best features is the hood and face-cover system. The jacket has a high collar that can zip and snap up around the neck and lower face, along with an oversized attached hood. Inside the hood is an integrated camouflage mesh face veil, giving the jacket a very unique field concealment look.
 
This example also includes the separate removable Alpenflage backpack attachment. The pack mounts to the jacket using the rear/shoulder strap system and can be detached when not needed.
 
It measures at a 48" chest, and is marked as a Swiss size 52. Overall in great surplus condition with very little sign of wear. Strong colors, clean presentation, and only minor signs of age/storage from military surplus handling. Excellent piece for collectors, display, reenactment, outdoor use, surplus fashion, or any Swiss military gear collection.
