Authentic U.S. Navy gun crew or deck smock from the World War II to early postwar era. Constructed from durable cotton twill in the characteristic naval gray-blue tone, this pullover smock was designed for use by shipboard personnel exposed to spray, soot, and gun flash.
It features a fixed drawstring hood, two large front flap pockets, and adjustable draw-cords at the cuffs and waist. Lightweight and functional, this pattern was commonly seen among anti-aircraft gunners and deck hands during late-war and Korean War service.
Unmarked, as typical for many Navy contractor-made garments of the period. The fabric shows excellent age patina and genuine shipboard wear. A rare survivor of U.S. naval working dress: Ideal for advanced military collectors or display alongside N-1 deck jackets and foul-weather gear.
