Authentic U.S. military-issued Enhanced Side Ballistic Inserts (ESBI) manufactured by ArmorWorks under government contract. These plates were developed as part of the ESBI upgrade program to improve side protection for troops using the Interceptor Body Armor (IBA) and later IOTV systems.
Rated to defeat 7.62mm armor-piercing (APM2) rounds, these inserts offer Level IV protection (ICW) when used in conjunction with soft armor. Each plate features clearly printed military markings including “STRIKE FACE,” “HANDLE WITH CARE,” and “U.S.”, along with full contract and NSN data, confirming genuine USGI origin.
These are the standard 7x8 side plate size, designed to fit issued side plate carriers. Manufactured in August 2007, they are a solid example of mid-GWOT era issued armor.
